Hey,
So unless you’re reading this in an RSS reader then you’ve probably noticed the new background to the site here. Like it? Yay or Nay? [comment below]
Also - some links!
- Ink Tank is one year old today! Huzzah!
- www.mycardboardlife.com is a comic made largely out of cardboard - groovy stuff
- And your life is not complete until you’ve read Scary Go Round
Sleep tight and don’t let those beg bugs bite - you really don’t know where they’ve been.

Mmm, i like, it suits since it’s all comics
, but it also increases the complexity of the page I think. Makes it feel crowded. Although mind you I had done a similar thing @ http://status.leighmcculloch.com/ recently but with random photos. How’s that for a double sided opinion ^_^
I’m not so sure of it myself — it’s a little too distracting at the moment, feels a little like it wants to run into the main area. I think it’d look better if there was some kind of definite black border down the edges of the content area, though, as I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the background itself.
Maybe you could have some (fake) transparency on it. Just overlay a 50% opacity gray layer on top of it, so it will still be understandable what it is, but it won’t be so heavy.
The main reason I (or anyone) comes to this site is to read your latest cartoon & this background makes it harder to do that, as it is quite distracting. Keep it simple I reckon - all the best webcomics (xkcd, smbc, amazing super powers etc) have strong clean designs that make the single function of any webcomic (being able to read the cartoon) easier.
