    If you watched the new Battlestar Galactica, you may have noticed that almost all correspondence was on 8-sided paper. This was from an in-joke because the producers were told to cut corners. So they did it literally to get even. Then they were stuck with cutting the frackin’ corners off everything for several seasons. backfired.
