ohmygod, that’s hilarious!
I smiled… IMHO the joke would have been funnier if it had been a star sign other than Cancer in the third panel. Think about it.
Nah - the whole joke is that she’s not actually telling him he has cancer, it’s that she’s telling him he is a Cancer. He gets upset because the prediction for Cancer is that they will get cancer.
It wouldn’t work with Leo or any of the other star signs.
It would work if it had said “Cancer: You will contract syphilis”, though.
This reminds me of SMBC’s occasional style of comic-writing
Ah, yes, I remember the fateful day roughly one 12th of the global population got Cancer simultaneously. The horror, the horror.
It doesn’t specify that it will happen immediately, just that it will happen.
Having said that, i did laugh at your joke.
A FAVOURITE
I love how there’s this enormous blank space for the horoscope box, and then nothing but the lonely statement — “You will get cancer”
It doesn’t even rate the day on a scale of one to five, or anything.
This one reminds me a lot of Buttersafe : )
This reminds me of SMBC the way the panels are in reverse order
