I’m assuming that it’s a joke about the British monarchy.
If so, what would the punchline be? I’m at a loss here.
You see, the British monarchy is greatly ceremonial. Since bees also have queens, Author is likening bees to Europe.
The main comic is about how pointless the monarchy is and that, in the bee world, the queen is absolutely vital to the survival of a colony.
Something like that.
