    Yeah, I don’t get it.
But that’s probably because I’m thick.

By operating his clockwork calculator he also involuntarily invented what turned into the computer language BASIC about 440 years after his death:

10 IF COG = “NEAT 2” GO SUM
    20 RETURN T0 10

His skepticism is true to form. This particular fella’s original conclusion was basically that even ‘cogito ergo sum’ begs the question.

It is funny how contemporary philosophers expound with such certainty – and base our philosophical “progress” on Rene’s basic assumption (which he himself felt was inadequate).

I find it rather telling of the human perspective that, despite the power of the scientific method, in the 100 years since Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle, our society and it’s modern sciences have been wallowing in the same self doubt about dogma that Rene was feeling over his inability to surpass skepticism. quantum uncertainty, epistemological skepticism – we will always be staring into Nietszche’s abyss.

Of course, Nietszche was a fatalistic pussy and probably got wedgies on the school-yard. Over at DPIH, Nietzsche is exactly as I imagined him.

Maybe he thinks, “Therefore I am”.

So if that is first person,
      I think,”Therefore I am”
      Honestly I don’t think that’s it, but I don’t get it. That’s the closest I come.
