[Comicshowtables] Admin: The site’s search function

Hello,

The ComicShowTables.co.uk website is now a little over one year old (the mailing list is a couple of years older than that but it didn’t have the shiny web-presence until July 2018). Critically, this means that there is now a searchable archive of CST’s coverage of one entire annual cycle of the UK comic show circuit.

What this means for you is that if you’re interested in a particular show you can use the site’s search function to find out what the details were last time (e.g. http://www.lukesurl.com/CSTblog/?s=MCM+Birmingham ). If you’re interested in a city you can also use this to investigate what shows happen there (e.g.: http://www.lukesurl.com/CSTblog/?s=Edinburgh ).

Be aware of a few things:
  • Cons can change prices significantly between years, and can also move or be cancelled
  • There are a few shows that aren’t covered by CST. This is usually because the organisers do not want booking details in the public domain.
  • I miss the occasional show. About 90% of posts are from me searching out info from across various sites and in some cases badgering con organisers for missing details. I’ve gotten fairly good at this over the last three years but there are still misses. If you’re aware of a show that hasn’t been mentioned on CST yet, please let me know either through email, Twitter or the submission form.

Cheers
Luke
